As like most of us you know about it anyway is it such a big deal? :)
  • Thanks to the OP for asking, as I was also wondering why I hadn't received the opportunity to opt-in to cookies.

As a generalisation across websites, I have only been asked twice since the legislation start date. Once quite clearly and completely when accessing the BBC website and once less clearly by a government website.

I followed the advice to look at the ""Cookies Q&A" page, however I have some cookies for the moneysavingexpert.com site that are not listed on the that page. For example I have three cookies called qubitTracker. Can I ask what those are used for?

There was an 11th hour change to the regulation that allowed "implied consent" for cookies that were required for a site to work properly, e.g. online stores that use a basket.

All non-necessary cookies should require the visitor to opt-in and should not be loaded prior to the visitor accepting them.

I'm not sure MSE is in full compliance with the regulation. To be fair to MSE the regulation is so poorly worded it's caused a lot of confusion.

    Me neither.
