First Time Buyers

Me and my partner are looking to buy our first house this time next year, we have moved back in with our parents to help save as much money as possible.
My partner is a secondary school teacher and I work in hospitality.
We would like to obtain as much information as we can as first time buyers ans what the steps are that we should take between now and having enough savings.
We are both first time buyers
