Colchester Zoo no longer accepts Clubcard vouchers anyway...
Personally, having been to both of them, I'd go to Colchester Zoo. Might be a bit biased because I live nearby and have an annual pass, but I do think it's one of the best zoos in the country, in terms of the number of different animals that they have. I've grown up in the area and it's grown massively over the years. Even if you just walk around and look at everything, it takes almost all day. Let alone listening to the feeding/enrichment talks etc.
On top of that, the food in the food outlets isn't outrageously expensive by tourist attraction standards.
They don't tend to do special offers though.0 -
You used to be able to save by pre booking tickets direct on the website of Colchester zoo and you do often see 2 for 1's at certain times of year locally but not sure if any around at the moment.
If travelling by train do check to see if they are on 2 for 1's via train ticket (you would need bus aswell I would guess)
What I would say is it is a great day out and certainly the best zoo i have been to in this country
Not very MSE but if you fancy something special in your picnic and if driving then check out the Food Company just down the road at Marks Tey junction on the A12. Its a pretty special place but as I say not MSE!0 -
