Lost keys :(
So I went To get my keys today only to realise I couldn't find them. Last time I used them was Monday evening, I locked up my car and went into my flat. Didn't leave the house yesterday so didn't need them.
I have spent the day searching EVERYWHERE. I mean everywhere, under furniture, in drawers, cupboards, bushes, washing, down radiators, in the fridge etc EVERYWHERE.
Phoned the police to see if they have been handed in, went into local shops too, no sign. Either theyve somehow been stolen (unlikely) or I've thrown them out as the bin was emptied this morning (before I noticed they were gone).
I only have one car key, so my car is now inaccessible. Is there some way of getting a new car key without the old one? I didn't get a spare when I bought it.
Is this likely to be very expensive? Thanks

sorry

the box on the right is the key reading box so it would need the applicable key to let the ecu start the car
does that make sense?0 -
If you only had one key to a car, irrespective of why on earth you would buy a car with only one key, isn't the very first thing you would do be to get another key cut ?
Isn't that just common sense ?0 -
Have you tried re-enacting your arrival? Dress in what you were wearing, carry what you were carrying ... then go out to the car and return to your home ... thinking carefully about your state of mind when you went in, what you were carrying, where you put it down... I doubt they were in the bin, it's just you've forgotten something. e.g. maybe you came in with a gift for a friend and chucked the gift in the bag (with your keys) in your wardrobe with the shoes you'll be wearing when you go to visit them next weekend... or something else unusual that you were thinking/carrying/doing...0
