I got free Home Emergency with my AA breakdown last June,
I got my renewal letter today and they said it would be £78 for the coming year. Oh, no, its a great service but didnt want to pay that much. I rang them up to cancel, suddenly the price is now £3 a month, so half the price. Strange, they wouldnt take £36 up front, the said the offer was for the DD of £3 a month for a year. Fine, so I stayed with them. I used their services twice last year andit was brilliant.
Aegus, quoted £255 for my car insurance, said no thank you, suddenly its dropped to £215. Yes please.
Coop quoted £254 for my house insurance, wouldnt budge so told them I wouldnt be renewing, still wouldnt budge.
Aegus quited £227, then dropped to £165. for the same cover as my current one with the Coop.
Saved quite a tidy sum today, I'll have a glass of wine later to celebrate.
So haggle, haggle, haggle. It's always worth it.
