Cleaning a dirty grill pan

Any OS tips for cleaning a grill pan that is very dirty. Have tried soaking it in soda crystals and am currently trying a paste of bicarb - any other tips?

I always soak mine in biological washing powder and hot water. Leave it over night and it comes up like new.

Put the grill pan in a double bin bag together with a cupful of ammonia. Keep your face averted from the smell. Leave outside overnight. Next day empty bag and hose down and the stuff will slough off. Use this method for oven shelves and trays etc. HTH

Sprinkle a capful of dishwasher powder over pan, add boiling water and leave over night. Works on burnt pans too.

You can use Astonish to finish it up if there are still bits to get off.

Hi, so far have tried:- soaking in soda crystals, oxiclean (which I find works well on burnt on stuff on pans), the much lauded Stardrops;) and mixing a paste of bicarb and plastering it with that! (Not all at the same time by the way:rotfl: )
I've also been scraping with a hob scraper - it's much better but not as clean as I'd like. So today I've bought some ammonia and poured some in to a double bin bag with grill as suggested - I'm hoping this will get the last bits off.

It has been a challenge, but then it was a very dirty grill:o

    Thanks for all your tips:D
