I've just heard on the news that there is a Metro strike on Thursday 21 June, the day I am going to see Bruce Springsteen at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland. So now we will have to drive
Can anyone point me towards a good car park or give suggestions for where to park. I'm 100% healthy but DH has a wonky knee so he is a very slow walker! I cant even find a web site for parking at the Stadium of Light ... there is a site for football but that doesnt have any concert info ... I dont mind how much I pay, I dont want DH to struggle to get there.

How far would other half be comfortable walking?
Best bet would be to park in the multistory (St. Marys carpark) then its a short walk over the bridge. Google earth may be worth a look to check, but its all level and no hills. About a 5-10 min slow walk max.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Assuming they have any space left try the St Peter's Campus at Sunderland University. If you can book then it's guaranteed parking unlike St Mary's which is first come, first served

You could also consider parking at the Civic Centre car park and taking one of several buses from Park Lane Bus Station next door.

If you OH has a disabled badge, you can park at the stadium - not sure how you arrange it but I went with a diabled friend to take taht a couple of years ago and we parked right by the entrance - was fab.

Just wanted to give feedback for the convenience of the parking. We parked at St Peter's Campus at Sunderland University. We paid £5. The car park was well signposted and very busy. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the venue. The best thing about it was that it was very easy to get away from the venue once we got back to the car. Unfortunately, to get to the car park you have to walk past the Metro station and the crowds were massive ... so it took us 40 minutes to get back to the car. However, it was then only a few minutes in bumper-to-bumper traffic to get on the bridge and head south.0
