Constant Spam Emails after Credit Card App - Make it stop please!!

Hope I'm posting this in the approriate forum, after having a quick look around the sight.

Cut a long story short, over the past 2weeks I've been recieving a horrible amount of spam mail into my inbox. :mad: I never used to recieve spam messages before, and if so very very occasionally they would be sent to the spam folder (i use btinternet).

a couple of weeks ago I applied for 2 credits cards with different companies which I was accepted for. I can only think that its got something to do with this why I've all of a sudden started to get all these emails - maybe I didn't check or uncheck those boxes they have at the end where they ask if its ok to send stuff. I'm really annoyed about this -(even if it may actually be my fault for not checking the tick box) but is thier any advice you can give me to make it stop.:mad:

Probably can't stop it now...
Do what many other people do use a separate email address to your 'normal' email address.
When you have actually got your new credit cards or whatever then change your email address to the 'normal' one.
