first off i am totally and utterley in the wrong!
you dont need to tell me i know.
finances no v5 to be found no tax renewal received and not knowing what to do for the best has resulted in tax running out 30th april.
have recieved however a reminder so off i pop to post office with insurance and mot to find no can do it as its passed end of may!
ok so im going to have to fill i n form and pay £25 to get new v5 and wait till that comes to get tax.
on way back ... i know driving illegally... no money for bus ive £37 quid left and no benefits.
i get a call from the jobcentre so pull over on single yellows quick call to chase them to make sure recieved some forms. while on phone look up and traffic warden!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:
BLIND PANIC.... NOTICES NO TAX WHERE IS IT I SAID YOU GET 5 DAYS HE SAYS ITS THE 6TH DAY!
GOES TO SIDE OF CAR ....... WHAT TO DO WHAT TO DO.
I DRIVE OFF!
BURY HEAD IN THE SAND YOU SAY? YES YES I DO.
Now what to do for the best now people?
i have £100 left on my credit card what i was going to take out for the car insurance. now if i get a £80 no tax plus parking ticket i think that would be the best that happens.
what else thought?
do i write off for v5 now?
do i sorn it? i wont be able to drive as car insurance is up next month and no funds to pay it. plus if i get parking tickets it will need to go on that.
i am normally an average jo that has had a couple of tickets all my life, never claimed benefits before pretty average just ended up in a whole pile of poo and i now know how it can just snow ball out of control and you just bury your head!

You really ought to get legal advice pronto. We can only help so far, but a lawyer (you should be able to get legal aid?) is your best bet.0

Sell the car and buy a push bike.Hi Ho Silver Awayyyyyyyyyy0

Oh god do you think it's that bad? I'm not sure if I'll get legal aid. I don't get benefits so probably not.
£37 is left and I've a 1year old to care for. Spending 3.50 sounds wise now but at the time it wasnt0 -
Try CAB if you're not able to get legal aid0

No, inurance is fine. All we have here is no tax, and a parking ticket.0 -

Possibly only a parking ticket, in fact. I'm not certain that they do anything beyond checking the tax disc to identify the vehicle. I don't think they alert the DVLA? Do they?
OP, you need to SORN the vehicle ASAP and get it off the road. And if you have no means of taxing it or insuring it, then you'll either have to keep it off the road or sell it.0 -
Was this a "Police" traffic warden or a Council officer? All will be revealed when you get the ticket in the post! As Mikey says, none of this will invalidate your insurance, though.0

You obviously cannot afford to run a car at present so do the sensible thing and SORN it. Otherwise you are going to get into serious trouble, both legally and financially.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Ideally you need to tax it asap, then you may only be faced with a lower fine.If you can get to a dvla office, you may be able to do it there. If not at least apply for a replacement v5. Phone the dvla and ask them how to tax with missing documents, if possible.0
