Home renovation help!

Hi I'm new so hopefully I'm putting this thread in the right place,
I'm in the process on buying my first house 3Bed 2reception and kitchen home
The house needs totally gutting from top to bottom as no one lived in it for years and it's very run down, It needs new Central heating and re-plumbing bathroom kitchen etc and electrical rewiring, has anyone done this lately or got a rough kinda guide on what to expect? Cheer Matt:D

Unsure what info you need. You are not giving much info. We have just purchase a how that has not been touched since the 70's. So we have most things too do.

Same here justjohn - 70s refurb for us. I've tried to make an accurate high and low cost estimate and we're looking at 15-30k depending on whether all services need updating or not (still waiting for survey - in process of buying).

Price would depend on your final finishings - quite easy to blow loads on a fully fitted custom top range kitchen or wetroom, so decide exactly what you want out of this. is this going to be a refurb to sell on in a few years or a home for years to come.
You could also make provisions to run lan cables/wired 4 sound etc to most rooms whilst they do the rewire so you future proof a bit for connectivity.

Hi, we bought a smaller 2 up 2 down that needed similar. For advice I would recommend to find somewhere you can stay whilst you do some work - where possible do 2 or 3 rooms in a go otherwise you can't bear to do anything more for a bit after you've finished one stint of DIY.

Ideal timeline would be to rip out the bathroom and kitchen and then do the electrics and plumbing. Then plastering, decorating, new bathroom and kitchen. :)

Cost - we're probably at around £15k not including bathroom, I really have forgotten individual costs! Wow!

Im looking to totally gut this plae as it's pretty run down! Plumbing, electrics, kitchen, windows and I'm looking in on an second floor extension on top of the kitchen which in a single floor flat roof!
Removing those horrible polystyrene ceiling tiles in most rooms then skimming I guess, I've got £30,000 to do this house also including double glazing all round what do you think guys? Alot of work I can do myself including decorating fitting kitchen, and windows.
    Matt
