New bathroom suite - recommendations?

I'm in the process of getting my bathroom remodelled and need a new suite. I'm responsible for buying it but have so many choices I don't really know where to start looking!
I'm not bothered about getting the bath from the same place as the toilet but my bath requirements are an L-Shaped shower bath that's sturdy! It seems that the bathstore/homebase one's have bad reviews and are flimsy! I'm clumsy so don't want to drop something and put a crack in it!
Any help greatly appreciated. I'm in SE London/Kent borders if anyone knows a good independent bathroom supplier.

we've had a heritage suite fitted on two occasions, very pleased, spares available etc. the house we have now has a B&Q suite - total rubbish, quality poor and can't get spares that fit (loo seat)!0

we've had a twyford suite in our cloakroom for years, lovely quality.
we got suckered in by the (never-ending!) 'sale' at bathstore - utter rubbish with a quality pricetag - the metal is all very poor quality, not standard sizes (a simple washer for a dripping tap? plumber's merchant had nothing to match!), the £50 loo seat cracked in no time, bad design - very poor all round
avoid! 0 -
Canucklehead - we're not a million miles from there but possibly a little too far, but thank you!
Ian & Purple - thanks for that. I'm so apprehensive in buying from one of the mainstream DIY/bathroom stores purely because of quality!0 -

We had 2 bathrooms fitted a couple of years ago.
One was fittled from Bathstore (not overly impressed, the basin was broken in its box as we opened it). High prices, not well finished. The other was fitted from wherever I fancied....the bath from B & Q (got a steel one for sturdiness as shower over - lovely quality). The basin from Grahams plumbers merchants - lovely choice of shapes, finishes etc. Shop around.0
