As for the house sale - why did you want a pink sign :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: that really made me laugh!!!! No idea what to offer, but I'd probably tell estate agent you are interested but waiting to sell yoours - you'll be in a stronger position if ready to proceed.
Wouldn't bother with a cookery course TBH - you can easily teach yourself with a book from a charity shop or library.
Keep up the good work!!!!!
thank auntie. we didn't want a red sign becasue the other estate agent in the area is red ad we wanted to be clear which one we were with. I think you're right about waiting until we've sold before we make an offer. Plus the less keen we seem the more likely it is we'll get that price down :rotfl:
you might be right about the cookery course..... but then books aren't always the clearest to follow when you haven't got a clue what you're doing!0 -
we've got our first viewing of our house today which should give us an indication of whether it might sell quickly or not. A quick look on rightmove shows that there really isn't a lot under the 250k in this area which should be good for us. i'll let you know....
no more selllings on amazon over the bank hol weekend  we're going to try and get more stock this week to boast the sales.
Had some vouchers for waterstones from leaving my job (they out a lot of thought into what to get me didn't they :rolleyes2 ) so i went and bought the Money Diet.... it's excellent!
I know there's a lot more stuff for us to do but we are making good progress so i'm happy so far. :dance:0 -
i started my new job this week - and have a payrise already :j
my basic rate will give us an extra £300pcm plus i can receive extra for sleep ins (approx £30) and 1 1/2 pay for overtime - unless it's weekend and short notice in which case it'll be double pay.
Also..... all my meals at work will be provided which will save us an absolute fortune
looking forward to pay day!0 -
things have been a bit hectic with starting the new job so i apologise for not keeping this updated as regularly. Here goes.....
the house.
we've had an offer :j at first they came in at £225K but we got it raised to £230K which is great news for us. Even better is the fact that another couple want to offer two so basically we have two couples interested and a race between as to who can sell the quickest.
other stuff.
i've just signed up for a better bank account - bank of scotland which will earn us £100 for transfering.
we've become really disorganised in the last couple of weeks which has meant eating out a lot plus take aways and is costing us a fortune! We must get back into control.
the amazon selling is going well - a couple of books each day! it won't make us rich but every bit helps.0 -
pllllllllleeeeeeaaaaaaaaaasssssssssseeeeeeeee, forgive me?
I know it's been about 2 months since i last posted.... thing is, things have really gone to pot.
Our buiyer pulled out of our house sale days before exchange. It has really messed us up and cost us a lot of money. We are now in a worse financial state then when i first started this thread, which is really getting me down.
I know that I have also taken my eye off the ball in other areas too. We've eaten out a lot, bought things we shouldn't have and not made any of the money saving things we had planned.
I need a kick up the backside..... any offers???0 -
we've decided to give ourselves that kick up the backside seeing as none of you have bothered!
Today we have changed estate agent in an attempt to get our house sold and move on. Th will charge us more but think they can get a higher price so it's swings and oundabouts really.
Our Cahoot loan is just over £3000 and we have given ourselves until the end of the year to half this amount. That will be a tall order but so far I have put £200 from some ovetime I got towards it and I have just put some more items on ebay which (if they all sell) will mean I can put another £120 in the pot.
I am going to spend some time this afternoon working out a weeks menu to try and cut down on our shopping bill this month and start to reduce our waistlines too!0 -
Just been paid from amazon selling and have put £45.41 into loan money.
I now have a weeks shopping plan which we will try our hardest to stick to.0 -
OH put another 70 books on amazon today and one of them is marked up at £60!!!
I've also jut finished filling in my timesheet fr september and have got about £200 in overtime and sleep in rates.... bu that won't be paid until the end of october.
The one thing I do need to do is to set up my mileage account at work as I have been doing quite a bit of driving lately.
Every bit counts!0 -
haven't managed to work out the mileage claim thing yet..... it's computerised and the blasted programme keeps shutting me out!!!
Have sold really well on ebay though..... transfered £120 today to the loan
I have more stuff on so hope to make the target for the end of the month!!!0 -
Amazon has only paid £7.19 this fortnight... although I think next one should be better.
I have now done the mileage claim at work and reckon I should get about £120.... although this won't be paid until the end of November
My wife's car needs an MOT by the end of Oct so fingers crossed that won't be too expensive.......0
