Car Parking in Wembley, Saturday, Summertime ball, from SW

Hi,
I'm coming up to the summertime ball on Saturday from Southampton and trying to figure out whether to
- take the easy/expensive option and drive + park in the official car park (and probably suffer an hours queuing). 150 miles/30 mpg = 5 gallons. so about £35 + £30 parking
- get the train from southampton (half hourly until 0005 from waterloo, then a superslow train at 0105 arrive 0326 - no thanks!) & suffer the tube/bus (hang back a bit?). Cost around £90 all-in (have to pay to park at station)
- locate a station/tube/bus route with good connection from somewhere on route (lots of parking? )£35 + £20
- use an "unofficial" car park close to wembley -- not saving more than £10 off official price, but may be easier access - but without recommendations could be downsides
There'll be 4 of us, and tbh convenience is more important than price, though that's a secondary factor. Tempted to just get the train, and not rush too much for tubes.
thoughts?
I'm thinking train ...

Alternative might be:
Drive to Stanmore tube car park (£1.50 all day parking on Saturday). Tube in to Wembley (use day pass for all zones except zone 1 as it is cheaper). Its 3 stops to the stadium. When leaving, everyone heads into Central London, you are heading in the opposite direction on empty tubes to the end of the line at Stanmore. Used this option many times for events at Wembley.0
