Hi
I booked a hostel with hostelbookers in London for one night, only £17 ?(including a £1.85 deposit and insurance) I didn't make the stay but was still charged the full price, is this how it works or should they just of taken the deposit?
Thanks

It depends on the T&Cs and how much notice you gave them of your intention to cancel - in general, hotels (and I assume hostels are similar) tend to offer both cheap non-flexible rates, wher you are not able to cancel and will be charged one nights stay if you do not show up, and more flexible (but more expensive) rates that allow you to cancel your booking any time up to the day of arrival and not be charged (although even then, you must let them know - if you simply don't show you will usually pay one mights booking).0

I actually asked for a refund a week before but changed my mind the day before as i hadnt recieved it. On the day I sent another email saying I wont be coming. Suppose I should just chalk it up to a bad call. Cheers0
