Live in carer's effect on benefits???

I am long term disabled female aged 50 and in receipt of DLA at highest rate on both, IS (or whatever it is called now) with the severe disablement allowance included, housing benefit, council tax credit etc. Until now I have been cared for by various members of the family and friends but I really need to have a live in full time carer very soon.
One friend that looks after me has offered but until I know what effect their moving in will have on my income I am scared to accept their kind offer. He is early retired ex forces and in receipt of the forces pension only. How will his income affect my benefits, if it does?
All advice will be welcomed and thankyou in anticipation.

Hi, someone more qualified will be along to help but as far as I understand - you will lose the severe disablement allowance for living alone and your friend should be able to claim carer's allowance. Hope this helps a little and you get some sound advice.Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. ~Confucius0

Hi I have a live in carer who doesn't get carers allowance for looking after me . I fund my care through direct payments with the local council have you been assessed by a social worker as you will probably be entitled to direct payments. Obviously I. Don't know our individual circumstances so if I were you I would phone the dwp and check to just make sure0
