Hello all. I am really confused at the moment. I want to send a quite expensive phone to my brother in France. The problem is that I am worried. Never sent abroad neither with RM or other.
The parcel needs to be insured at least at 500£. The size is 18, 22, 12. Weight 0.6kg
From what I found out I know that RM doesn't compensate mobile phones, and the internet is full of negative reviews about airsure service. Someone advised me to put in with airsure and insure it, and if something goes wrong to declare it was something else instead. Really have doubts about royal mail now.
To cut the long story short, what should I do? Go for couriers? I really want to cut the cost a bit, budget max 40£ but 30£ would be super. Any advices would be appreciated by a confused newbie.

Extra compensation is not available for mobile telephones (including PDAs, Blackberries and etc) sent via Airsure®. Therefore, the maximum compensation payable for loss or damage to a mobile telephone is £50. Please note that when Airsure® is used to send a packet containing a mobile telephone together with other items, additional compensation can be purchased but this will only cover the other contents.

Yes I know.
I found parcelhero and it had 9.5 positive reviews and went for it :j
Let's hope for the best. They are really good until now, good price (UPS standard 48hrs plus 750£insurance - 33.5) 10% discount included, quick and late collection, ordered at 15.30 for 16- 17, and they collected at 16.40. Other brokers didn't have collection times after 13.
Ok this is double than RM but at least I can sleep in the night.0
