CC Application approved but no confirmation?

Applied for a new Virgin CC online which was approved, however, this was a few days ago now and I have still not received any sort of confirmation or email to say that I even applied!?.
Surely i should have received something, even if it was just an automated email to confirm my application?.
Is this normal practice, and what can I expect to happen next?

From my experience, you should receive an email/sms regarding your application shortly (usually within 7 working days of the application date) with details of the approved credit limit.
You could also give them a call to enquire about your application status.0
