Sonicare toothbrush

My old Sonicare broke after about 15 months so I ordered a new one from a seller on ebay which looked to be the same model.

It turned up on Friday and I have been using it since without issue but have just tried to register my product and two issues have appeared:
  • The model stamped on the toothbrush (HX6930) is not recognised on the website.
  • The model number is different from the item advertised (although the detailed item description has the same functions but incorrect model number). For the record I bought it purely based on the model number so I was a little dissapointed by this.

Ignoring the first issue which I have emailed Philips about as I am concerned I might have been sent a dodgy item, is there anything I can do about the second? The model I have been sent appears to be most similar to the one below the one I thought I was buying and in that case I paid slightly too much for it.

  • The HX6930 is definitely an authentic model, we have three in the family - one of which has been replaced by Philips when it went faulty. Model numbers change every year, so it could be that you have been sent an earlier/ later version? What was the model that you ordered?

Unless its not authentic you don't really have many options to be honest. By using it you would be deemed to have accepted it.

If you only received it within the last 7 working days you can return it under distance selling regulations. But I suspect the seller would turn round and say by using it you have breached your duty of care

Your original Sonicare is under warranty as Phillips cover them for 2 years from date of manufacture if bought from eBay.

I have to send mine back also as it wont charge anymore.

Some people. I'd of selotaped the toothbrush to the charger and used it until it finally gave up the ghost.
