Good evening everyone, was wondering if anyone could help me with a few questions I have on claiming PPI back on credit cards and possibly loans.
1. I can check back on statements for credit cards for ppi, if they have or had this is it just the same questionnaire I fill in as I would have done for my insurance policy sold with my mortgage?
2. How do I find out whether my loans ( northern rock unsecured loan with together mortgage?) loans from Halifax and Yorkshire bank within the last 6years had PPI added to them without our knowledge as I know I have always said not to PPI. When taking out a loan?
Sent off the questionnaire to L&G for our PPI sold by AWD 5years ago and just received letter offering refund. We are paying the amount off our mortgage and having central heating fitted in the house before winter with interest. We are currently in arrears with all CC's and loan and paying smaller amounts each month to clear the debts interst is frozen. We are not wanting to have the money back from any we may be ale to claim on and I'm sure they would just reduce the debt if we were successful anyway just wanting some advice on what to do if you are trying to find out whether PPI was added without knowledge as I've been told northern rock did that with some of the loans but not sure whether this includes the loans running alongside the mortgages?.

Most mortgage PPI is monthly premium from your current account. That is how it should be set up. A minority of cases were single premium (this is bad and an easy complaint reason). In these cases the mortgage amount was increased to cover around 5 years worth of premiums. So, check your mortgage amount borrowed and see if it was higher than needed.
If you bought via a NR branch, then it would only have been monthly payment and not single premium. They never did single premium on mortgages.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
