Urgent advice re brother sending an invoice

    Good. A cease and desist letter should calm him down. Tell her she need to start keeping a diary of contact also.

    If she did the full clearance of the home, I suggest she send him an invoice for half of the hours (the ones he didn't do) with an hourly rate carefully calculated to exactly cover the cost of the invoice he sent her.

    Both invoices are worth precisely the paper they are written on without a prior agreement to pay, but it might cheer her up to know that the 'debt' is cancelled out by the 'credit' he owes her. Or, she could make it a small sum under, five pence perhaps, and hand him the invoice with the coin stuck to it, to say she paid the difference.

    This is the best thing she can do, I am sure that it wil put her mind at rest, as others have said the Brother does not have a leg to stand on.
