Offer or not to offer??

Hi

We have found a large property that we would like to buy with my mother, it is a 7 bedroom house with 2 bedroom annexe attached, we both have our properties on the market and have had interest but no offers as yet.

Is there any point in putting an offer in on this house before we even have buyers for our properties? If we did and the offer is accepted should we proceed to pay out for a full survey?

The property has been on the market since before June last year and only 1 offer has been put in as far as we know which came to nothing.

Any help is greatly appreciated as never sold a house before!!

Thanks

I'm not sure a vendor would take you seriously if your houses didn't have offers on them yet, but I perhaps if the house you would like to purchase hasn't had many bites, it's worth putting an offer on if you know it's the house for you.

A 7 bedroom house with a 2 bed annex sounds very large, btw!

I think I would keep my powder dry. The seller is very unlikely to take their house off the market and knowing someone else is interested might encourage another viewer to take the plunge - the fact of your interest verifies the selling price and makes the house more desirable.
