Parking Ticket..
Hi all,
I wonder if someone could give me some advice.
I have been issued with a parking ticket - obviously from a CCTV camera - with photo evidence showing my car "parked" on double yellow lines.
However, I was not parked! I was sat in my car, talking to someone in the car on the opposite side of the road asking for directions. My engine was still running and as soon as I had finished asking for the directions I drove off. I did not leave my car once. Had they sent the picture from the CCTV zoomed out a little, this surely would have been obvious?
Does this still consitute "parking" or waiting?
Is this still enforceable?
Your thought and suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

It does seem harsh and might be worth trying to contact someone to have a bit of a moan or atleast to explain your case, they might show some compassion, but i wouldn't bet on it!!!
This is what the highway code says:
"Waiting restrictions indicated by yellow lines apply to the carriageway, pavement and verge. You may stop to load or unload (unless there are also loading restrictions as described below) or while passengers board or alight. Double yellow lines mean no waiting at any time, unless there are signs that specifically indicate seasonal restrictions. The times at which the restrictions apply for other road markings are shown on nearby plates or on entry signs to controlled parking zones. If no days are shown on the signs, the restrictions are in force every day including Sundays and Bank Holidays. White bay markings and upright signs (see below) indicate where parking is allowed."

Can I just confirm this - was your car on the double yellow lines or not? If so then yeah you should pay up.
Are all the details correct on the parking ticket?Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
