Your limit would depend on your income but I have experienced that Barclays tend to give quite a high limit at the moment. my OH got a limit of above 12k despite having 3 other cards and 2 household goods loans(buy now pay over 4 years) on 0%.

They do allow money transfers I think as it does show up on my OHs online account. and with their 22/24 month offers the BT fee of 2.95 the whole thing costs around 1.45% per annum which is excellent.

If you apply for multiple cards and then try for a personal loan cahnces are that you may get rejected, though your own bank might ignore multiple searches as they use their own lending criteria in addition to the credit agencies report.

I see what Bugsy is saying but I recently applied for a Nationwide CC and was accepted immediately with a £4K limit. However I have about £60k worth of available credit on my other cards so in my particular situation all this credit made no difference to me.

Some posters on here seem to think having too much credit available can be a bad thing but if you have held x number of cards for a number of years and your credit history shows you have always acted responsibly then this can have a big barring on you being accepted.

One more question, in order to save time on either being turned down or being offered too little credit (that may make me turn down the card), is it a good or a bad idea to apply for, say, 3 cards at the same time or is it necessary to apply for only on at a time?

What has been the waiting time to get the card by people here?
