IPAD/Iphone repair

Hi

Can anyone recommend a reliable agent to repair my Apple ipad2 ? The edge where the volume buttons are, got dinged and the buttons are now stuck on silent, I can't turn the volume up and the volume icon is permanently showing in the middle of the screen. The case where the buttons are is also dented. It is only 6 months old - a Christmas present from John Lewis. I took it to Apple but they wanted £200 to repair it(ouch!).

I have used Mobyrepairs in the past for fixing mobile phones but they do not seem to be trading anymore.

I have googled repair agents but there are so many horror stories reported on here that I am worried about who to use.

Thanks

I've used these guys in the past to repair my old 3GS and they offer a decent service.

Look to claim accidental house hold insurance. You will prolly have to pay an excess, and depending on it, might be worth it or not. They're likely to look at an authorised repair agent themselves.

But be aware that at 6 months old, most likely an unauthorised repair ie they open it up, fiddle, ding things back out etc would affect the full 12 months warranty from apple.

Frankly unless you have a shop you can walk into, I wouldn't risk sending a valuable 6 month ipad out to random recommendations.
At that price, consider repair via apple, or live with it on headphones if that still works, or go down home insurance, the accidental contents policy (if you have it/it's applicable to technology items)
