How many nights is that for? If it’s for one night, I would recommend The Ritz … !
I mainly know hotels around Kensington, which is great placeto stay. It’s near the museums and Hyde Park, and you can get to Covent Garden etc. very easily by tube or bus.
If you are looking for an impressive hotel, then The Kensington Hotel is very nice, but still fairly pricy. If you are lookingfor a more mid-price hotel, both The Regency Hotel and Rydges Hotel arevery good. I have friends who have stayed at The Regency a couple of times and foundit very nice, and been for dinner at Rydges which also seemed good.0 -
Despite its rubbish name, the Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes is brilliant0

There are so many fabulous hotels in London .... The Savoy - just had a £200m makeover and looks gorgeous. The service is exceptional.
The Landmark - opposite Marylebone Station in a not very exciting part of town, but a beautiful hotel all the same.
The Lanesborough - Hyde Park Corner
The Goring - my personal favourite. It's still family-owned and family-run. Smaller than those above, but outstanding service and beautiful rooms.
Avoid the Grosvenor House unless you like a "bog standard Meridien" - ruined since it was taken over, IMHO.
I've never set foot inside the Dorchester, but it seems to be the choice of the "rich & famous".
If you want a traditional hotel with traditional service, go for the Goring. Personally, I don't like the chain-hotels (hence I've ditched the Grosvenor House after 20 odd years of staying there).Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

For how many people?
I suggest using Trip Advisor to find hotels in your budget with the best reviews. I'd also suggest going room only - there are plenty of choices for cheaper breakfasts than you would get in a hotel.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
