Roads retention being used to complete road works.

And the guy yesterday openly admitted that when he bought he signed a disclaimer from his solicitor saying he was going against the solicitors advice in not getting a retention and proceeding with the sale! He's the guy that told us our retention is not ours to use!Too many children, too little time!!!

It's due back to us at some point soon. It's a horrible situation and causing a lot of bad feeling, those without retentions are using the retentions that the six do have to reduce their own liability.
Tell them to get stuffed, you've got your money back which you're entitled to and then pay 1/20th and not a penny more.0 -

I agree - if your solicitor confirms that your obligation died with the developer going bust (and eventual return of the retention money to yourselves) then tell the management company your contribution will only be the same as everyone else's.0 -
