Motorbike Insurance before CBT

I am booked for CBT on 19th June and have ordered a new 125 Honda. The dealer says I need proof of Insurance before it can be delivered but I am struggling to get insurance before my CBT.

I won't be using bike until I have passed CBT so it will be sitting round my back garden but I still need insurance

Any suggestions ?

There is no requirement that you have insurance unless maybe it's a condition of finance

If it is a condition of finance then leave it at the dealer until you have done CBT

If the dealer is just being awkward then take your business elsewhere (if they are being like this now just think what they will be like if you have a problem with the bike)

thanks. Think it may be the finance that could be requesting insurance. One solution would be forget the finance and put the bike on a 0% credit card i have

It might be a tax or registration issue.

Yeah they want to tax the bike so require proof of your insurance, But you cant get that until your have a licence.

Just dont pick the bike up until after the CBT and you arrange insurance.

how does lack of tax have anything to do with the dealer or delivery?

Maybe they want to register and tax it for them?

Or ride the bike to them and dont have trade plates?
