Weedkiller suggestions for lawn and safe for cats

My lawn, if one could call it that is covered in dandelion plants, literally everywhere, its also very mossy due to being mostly in the shade.
Does anyone know of a weedkiller that is for use on lawns and not harmful to cats? I'm not having much luck in finding one.
I'm not being lazy but if I dug them all up I wouldn't have a lawn at all, tried it with a few but couldn't help but leave mud patch.
