Tell me which one to buy!!!

Braun £65.00

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002TOJT2U/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Or Philips £27.00

http://www.philips-shop.co.uk/store/catalog/hair-removal/bikini-trimmers/body-perfect-trim-shape-shave-and-epilate/productdetail/HP6379_00_GB_SHOPPUB/GB/en

Its for the bikini area, may use for underarms, don't know......Unlikely to use for legs as I love the silky feel of my Venus devine.

I like the shape of the Philips & its cheaper:money:, but I think the Braun are the brand leaders & I always find if I buy the cheaper one I regret it & wish I had purchased the better one first & go back & buy it later & end up spending more:cool:

So shape & cheapness or brand name & the versitility of being able to use it anywhere on the body?

I'm thinking of buying an epilator to save having waxing trips for my bikini area & I don't fancy shaving, don't want the itchy re-growth:eek: or the stuble:eek:
Anyone got any recommendations?
I was looking at this one......

Its primarly for the bikini area, I may use it for underarms (maybe:eek:), doubt I would use it for legs, but you never know....
Its wet & dry & rechargable, I like both of those features.

I guess its no worse than being waxed though.

I've never had an ingrown hair - anywhere. So maybe I'm not prone to them, but anyway wouldn't all hair removal carry the same risk?

    I also saw this one

    http://www.philips-shop.co.uk/store/catalog/bikini-trimmers/category/BIKINI_TRIMMERS_SU_GB_SHOPPUB/GB/en?navCount=0

Thought the shape looked better for the bikini area than the Braun one.
  • I epilate my legs and have tried many times in the bikini area...personally I find waxing there a lot less painful given that it's quick one rip and a large area can be done whereas an epilator pulls out the hairs one by one. The more you do it the thinner the hairs get though and the easier it gets but perhaps a wet one will mean you can do it in the bath which will make it a bit easier.

mine has 2 head with a lady shave one which I use on my bikini which isn't as harsh as a normal razor and I don't seem to get the itching (just the stubble....)

Tweezer them, it'll be less painful...lol

I have one of the Braun wet and dry rechargeable ones, just a different model. It works fine and the regrowth is getting thinner etc.
I do like the look of the Phillips one you posted and it looks like it may be easier to use in the more tricky areas.
If you go for the Phillips I'd be interested in how you get on.
  • There's one in the Avon catalogue this week. Does anyone know if it's any good?

I have been epillating for two years. I use the braun wet and dry one. I recently starting shaving my legs again. I could never get 100% smooth. I can keep my pits and bikini line down to once every week or so, and I trim the whole muff with the shaver when it needs it.

My legs needed doing every couple of days though. I went through the same thing with waxing, I never had stubble as such, but I had regrowth because everything comes back at different times. I spent two years epilating my legs once a week and have come to the conclusion that shaving is better.

Epilator - ouch! if you don't get ingrown hairs then maybe it's for you.

However I had certain hairs lasered off & wish I had done it years ago - brazillian & underarms (via interest free credit as it can be expensive - SkinClinics). This makes appearance/controlling things a whole new thing - I had major ingrown hair regrowth & it was a constant battle to stay on top of it - no a few whispy hairs appear weekly rather than constant daily protuberances!

Subsequently due to this expense via Groupon I had an incomplete course of IPL on full legs & this has slowed regrowth so that shaving isn't necessary as often. Course was incomplete as anyone who has used Groupon deals knows often more people are sold deals than salons can properly service & so six weekly appointments became impossible & this made the effects less effective. In this regard you get what you pay for (although I did have to insist on some areas being done several times more at Skin Clinics before I was satisfied with the end result).

I used an epilator for years on my underarms and legs, not on my bikini area but the same will probably apply - the ingrown hairs! Ouch! they were really bad, worse than you get with waxing, and i think because with waxing you get a kind of exfoliation as the strips lift off a layer of skin too.

Im thinking of getting the veet electrical roll on wax system though just for my legs and underarms - will keep going to a beautician for all off on the nether regions, and I just shave in between to keep it smooth (ish)

    Something to consider?

    I'm still dithering:o:o:o

The Philips one is really just for the bikini area - might be ok for underarms too & its £27.00
The Braun one is for anywhere, so even at £65.00 might be cheaper in the long run..........But is over twice the price initially.
I might love epilating & wish I had bought the Braun & convert to doing legs too, but I do like the smooth silkyness of shaving (I use venus - they are BRILLIANT).
