Decent price if it's a good brand and a combi condensing boiler.0

Yes,I would go for that, it sounds good.Check that all the work they need to do to fit it is included though, it sounds like it is as you mention drilling and pipes.
We had our new combi boiler installed a few months ago and if we had a quote like that we would have jumped at it!.The cheapest quote we had was for £2,500 for boiler and fitting but that was only if it went smoothly and nothing unexpected came up during the fit to make it more difficult thus more expensive.
My hubby and I thought we were going to save money by buying our boiler from B&Q and then getting someone to fit it.We spent £690 on a good boiler and flue(this was during one of their 20% off weekends)then we had a problem because we couldnt get anyone to fit it at all.Eventually after 6months of the new boiler sitting there in its box we got the name of a gas fitter who had time to fit the thing.£850 IN CASH ONLY!!! just to fit it.Once the job was done I handed him the certificate to be signed and for him to add his corgi registration number and he wouldnt do it.This was apparantly his day off work and he had done the job as a favour to a friend( the person who gave us his number). He wouldnt put his details on the form incase he got into trouble from his employer for doing a home job,or hamer, as he called it.Once he left and I went into the kitchen to look at it he had even put it in the wrong place. My hubby had done all the prep work and installed the fire retardent board before he came and he goes and puts the thing on the other wall?????So yes, take the quote before they change their mind, make sure they are qualified and corgi registered, and dont trust them just because a friend reccommends them, check them out for yourself.Hope it all goes well and you are enjoying a nice warm home before long."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Just thought of something else that may actually be off use to you rather than me just complaining about my own bad experience. They may tell you they will remove all RUBBISH related to the job, but please insist that if they are removing an old water tank and copper pipes that these are left. They can be of value. You shouldnt have to explain yourself either, I told my COWBOY FITTER that I wanted to cut mine in half and use it for plant pots in the garden. My hubby took the old copper water tank and pipes to the local scrap yard and got £75 for them.So I suppose we did save some money in the end,it was just a bit of a hassle."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0
