Noticing a few problems.
For the past couple of months i've been using it with no battery, now once every few days it will suddenly cut out. The past three days it has happened once every day now. I can take the power cable out and put in back in straight away and it will turn on no problem, though this leads to the second problem.
It can take up to 10 minutes for me to get Firefox to open, or perhaps longer now because half an hour after the laptop cutting out and then being restarted again it still won't open and i'm on Chrome. After the usual 10 minutes of waiting Firefox is sometimes freezing, not responding, or opening with half a page showing and freezing and obviously I have to close Firefox when any of those happen. Is this Firefox or my laptop, have to say i've never had much trouble with FF before. I'm getting a lot of "Firefox not responding" when it is up and running also.
Another thing is when watching videos etc, it's always lagging and jumpy, it happened before now and sgain but at the moment it's every time.
It's 2 1/2 years old now and in fairness has been used a lot

Could do with some more information. When it cuts out what actually happens? Does the laptop freeze or does the power completely go off, ie blank screen and no lights?
Are there any lights on your charger? If so do these go off when your laptop does?
Are you not using the battery anymore because it's not holding much charge? If the battery still works would be worth sticking it back in and see if the laptop powers off while using it. This will help to narrow down what's causing the power issue. It might just be a faulty charger which is easy to replace or could be the laptop itself.
Where the charger connects to the laptop is there any damage/is the connection loose?
I doubt it is an overheating issue as the laptop switches straight back on again. Usually you have to wait a while for the laptop to cool down before switching it back on. However, it's probably worth checking the vents on the laptop for dust/hair etc.0 -
It goes off, no lights on. no lights on the charger.
Battery was holding very little charge, about 10 minutes. One day the laptop cut out, had the charger plugged in, it wouldn't turn back on until I took the battery out. With the battery in, the light indicating the charger was plugged in didn't come on either.
I can't see any damage anywhere on the power cable, it's actually pretty thick.0 -
does the light on the charger come back on as soon as you unplug it from the laptop? How do I add a signature?0
