you will have to have them for 28 days as your current supplier, bg would then do a normal credit check when you switch to themDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Yes, you dont take suppliers with you, you ask to enter into a new contract at your new addressDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

prepay meters are on standard tariff, the most expensive tariff.you will need to inform EON of the start readings and get a new card and a new key in your name.dont use any old card/key.Reading for the elec is on "G" total kwhs. The suppliers dont seem to have any hard and fast rules on how much they charge to fit a credit meter.my mum got hers free but have heard of a approx £ 50 a meter charge plus credit checks and possibly a bond repayable later.Apart form the inconvenience of these meters I think you could make good yearly savings with credit meters on the cheapest tariffs, online reads, dual fuel, paperless billing etc of over a £100 pounds a year at least0

If you are moving from a Home supplied by BG and have not defaulted on a DD they will not have to credit vet you. Give them a call to take over the property and they will be able to change the meters a few days after they supply you. The change of supplier usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

Just remember you were a Bgas customer before so they can internally credit check you.
If your payment history is good, they cannot argue that you should be penalised by being made to pay for these meters go be changed to credit, just because the previous occupant had a poor payment history.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
Hi bargainsneeded,
Just sticking my nose in
Already great info from the others, but wanted to re-iterate what to do when you move in to the new place.
As E.ON already supply the new house, you will need to give us a ring with your details and meter readings. This means we will set up a new account for you and send you new keys/cards for the meters.
It also means that if there is any debt on the meters from the previous occupier, it will be wiped clean for you to use.
You will also then be billed for the energy that you use.
Any questions just ask.
