Referred to underwriters - Natwest! :(

Hi there,
I am a first time buyer, and recently went through a very lengthy mortgage application on the telephone with Natwest - to find, thankfully, that they were happy to lend me the money I need to buy my house!
I received the application form, pre-completed as i went through it all on the telephone..and signed the forms, attached my bank statements, and added my pay slips also.
Bare in mind please, that the lady I spoke to at Natwest, when filling out the application, told me whole heartedly that I had passed their credit scoring system and the application had been approved..
On returning the form, I called them to ensure it was all received ok - they then tell me that my application has been "Referred". I asked the lady what this meant, and she was very matter of fact in saying - "It's no big deal, your application has been referred to our underwriters, and it is a standard procedure"
On looking on the net though, I see it is a bit of a bigger deal than that, and means they class me as a high risk borrower! I am borrowing 95% LTV, so this may be standard for that kind of case..??
Can anybody PLEASE reassure me as to the possible reasons or likely outcomes..
My credit score is good (800+) and like i say I passed their initial credit check, so guess the next stage is just to see froma human point of view that the figures all add up???!

Thats worst case scenario though. She could be telling the truth and it could just be standard practice to do this. All you can do is wait im afraid, but my fingers are crossed for you!!:xmastree: :snow_laug Christmas Nutter :snow_laug:xmastree:0
