Well, I am sure it has been brought up countless times. Have been playing on my Dad's new iPad 2 which we got him recently, and do enjoy the touchscreen capability and watching films on it, etc.
However, I don't like the fact it's so rigid in what it can do - hence why I am looking towards a Tablet, most likely with Android.
Can anyone point me in the direction of the best place to read reviews for Tablets? As it appears when looking on Google, they tend to be old reviews

For what its worth the wife uses an ipad2 and I use an asus eepad transformer, I prefer mine but she prefers hers.

I wasn't defending the iPad, I was just asking which bits she didn't like to better inform a recommendation. Personally, I don't like that I can't customise what is on my iPhone lock screen (well, to put what I want on there anyway), but love the fact that my app store is regulated by Apple.
Depending on which "rigid" bits are a problem for the OP depends on what tablet she should purchase instead.0 -
About the only thing I've found with the iPad I don't like in terms of being 'rigid' is it's inability to receive/accept files over Bluetooth0

Another vote for the Asus Transformer.
Bit of a steep learning curve at first, having been brought up on Windows, but soon got the hang of it.
Pros : Detachable/Attachable QWERTY keyboard - built in SD card and USB ports - not tied to Apple products - classy appearance - links with Windows computers and Android phones (don't know about Iphones, though)
Cons : Whole unit is heavier than I expected. Sparce instructions in box - Manual is on-line but assumes some knowledge of the Android O/S. Less apps than Iphone, but still hundreds of thousands of them and growing.0 -
i own both android tablets and the ipad. the androids are fantastic if you want to tinker and customise and work untethered to a supplier, but overall the quality and performance of the ipad is miles ahead of anything using android. these all seem clunky in comparison. so it will be a trade off for you I guess.0

What is this 'not tied to Apple products' lark about? I've got an Ipad2 and an iPod (both chosen as they were 'best of breed' products) and happily use them both with my Windows PC (and my android phone)
No one has explained this 'tie' yet. I do fancy buying an android tablet at some point; especially as the price has dropped.0
