I have been waiting for Halfords to put there Sat Navs in the sale and I was glad they finally did it.
I had been checking the price of the Garmin Nuvi 2595LM as it had been at £199.99 since February. The last time I checked it was 25 May, still £199.99.
I had the email from Halfords about there sale, so I headed to the site and found that the 2595LM had gone up in price to £229.99.
I appreciate that yes it is in the sale and reduced by £52.40 to £177.59.
My question. Is it right for stores to increase there prices before items go into the sale?
I called Halfords who could not explain why this had happened. The "excuse" was that it could be a computer error!!

They all do it - not saying that it's right, but supermarkets for example frequently increase the price of a product before reducing it as an 'offer'.0

there was a DFS advert recently where the "sale price" was £699 and the list of previous prices admitted it had been £599 at some pointEx forum ambassador

You could always forget Halfords and buy from Amazon and save yourself a few more £s.

Garmin are also doing a cashback promotion and you may well be able to get £30 from them.

It is so common you'll scarcely believe it. Also a shop only has to have an item at t higher price in one store for 28 days in order to show the 'reduction'!!0

As above, it seems to be standard practice in the big corporates these days.
I tend to buy the same groceries week in, week out, and Tesco became tediously predictable when they were going to put one of my regular products on offer, as the price would rise a week or so before it would be on a 3 for 2 or price drop.
I'm 6 months into my one-man boycott of Tesco, and although I'm sure they don't miss me, I feel much better about not being taken for an idiot by them.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
So it is now £22.40 less than the price that previously caught your eye.
Have you bought it yet or have they all been sold while you have been posting on here?0
