KC's monopoly over Hull

Living in Hull I miss all the good combi package deals on home phone, tv and broadband! As it stands I don't bother with a home phone, or sky (as I can't get the combi package price I want), and have a dongle for broadband.
Will this situation ever change?
It really sucks that the majority of the country can get these package deals with tv, home phone and broadband for one price and here in Hull we can't!

It is only a bargain if you need it!

At least you now can shop at Tescos etc rather than Jacksons.0

It is Sainsbury's Local shops that have taken over most of the old Jacksons shops. :-) Have always had a tesco, but do now have another bigger one in the town centre. It is only a bargain if you need it!0

Isn't it the people of Hull you need to grumble to about this? Presumably they got the benefit when they sold out the monopoly to KC. Any competitor would have to put in all their own system, wiring etc.
Doubt KC would have bought it if there was a chance they'd lose the monopoly.0 -
I didn't realise grumbling wasn't allowed, or had to be limited by geographical location.
I hoped the topic may have come up on here, or someone knowledgeable would come along who knew more than I do on this particular subject. I know there have been campaigns in the past but they never seem to get anywhere. I don't know who benefited from KC having the monopoly, but it certainly isn't the regular folk who have no choice of which land line provider to go with.It is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
It won't change...:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.0 -

I can't really do the 3G dongle route because I'm in a location just outside the city boundary where 3G phones tend to only pick up 2G signals reliably. Go for a wander half a mile toward areas with tall flats with masts and it's solid, but then everyone is using the 3G networks for data so it's probably really slow.
Houses here are cheap for a reason!--Savings: £300k and counting...26/09/14 the day I reached 100k, 24/07/20 200k, 23/08/24 300k
