Toshiba Laptop "freezes" when it goes into sleep mode.

Daughter has a 4 month old Toshiba running windows 7. She is at university so uses it every day. It basically stays plugged in all the time. if she is in, she will turn it on and leave it on all day. It usually just goes into sleep mode and then she has to put in password to get back to desktop.

On a couple of occasions it has gone into sleep mode, all the power lights etc are lit up but it wont turn back on. To get it to come on she has to disconnect the power and battery, reconnect it and then away it goes. If she powers it down normally at the end of the day, it has never "not started" its just two occasions in the sleep mode.

What can be the cause? Constant connection to mains? Constantly on? Settings issue? Hardware fault?

Thanks
