anti virus help

in Techie Stuff
anyone with info regarding free anti virus, firewall etc. for a dial up connection
for a complete no hoper when it comes to computers.
i'm on aol if that makes any difference.

all your help would be welcome and appreciated.:confused:

    people still use dial up :eek:

    check the threads at the top for different opinions on products

    avg = free anti virus

    zone alarm = free firewall.

    with having dial up maybe you should look at an anti virus where you can set the updates to specific times only, (21st centruy so maybe they all do it now anyway)

    AVG v7.5 is a popular choice, available to download from here. The file is about 18Mb, so it may take you a while on dial-up!

    Do you know anyone who buys PC Magazines? They often put things like AVG and Zone Alarm on the cover discs, a lot easier for you than downloading on dial up. It may even be worht buying one if it has them on to save the hassle of downloading.
