Nothing to be embarrassed about. I worked out I was spending over £500 a year on Soy Latte! Sista was caning best part of a grand on peperroni and energy drinks!
Given how old some over your debts are likely to be Art, you need to read up on statute barring on here. Once you've got back in to your online credit file you'll find out which DCAs have your debts now, but hang fire getting in touch until you've checked the ages and which are about to drop off your file.
If you want to clear the lot, fair play to you, but best to be pragmatic and get the ones cleared that are already damaging your credit, than the ones that are long gone.
Let us all know how you get on with the SOA and the file access.
PS, I don't do change, I use the save the change feature on my Lloyds account and pay for everything using my debit card.0 -
God yes any money you're saving, and any change, stick it somewhere you can't access it, sealed pot, savings account, whatever. Then you can either chuck it at the debt or use it for emergencies (or a night out when you're desperate). I'm in a different position to you so all my change (and any I find left lying around the house unattended) goes in the school summer holidays pot. Been doing it since jan, got nearly £90 now.Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

I think that was my original thread. Over 4 years ago. Nothing has changed really. Quite sad reading.Watch this space.... Will update soon!0 -
Just skimmed through that - you made some friends there!

A little bit of help required.
Ive just signed up to Noddle and had a look at my credit report. Laughable ha.
However I was thinking my debts tally up to about 20k but upon reflection it looks like its more like 12/13. Is this credit report reliable? As I'm sure there is credit that should be on there that isnt.
Bit of an eye opener but now its on screen and I know what I've got to do I'm quite happy. Weird really.Watch this space.... Will update soon!0 -
What made you think it was 20k?
Not everything appears on Noddle i don't think. Have you looked at your experian report? i believe that tends to be more reliable....DEBT FREE AND PROUD

Because I've ignored my debts for so long I just thought there would be loads of charges etc. I knew I had a big loan and loads of smaller debts between 500 and 2k.
But the loan which I thought was about 11k is 7. Just doesn't look as bad as I thought.
It looks like I've used experian before so need to call them up to reset my password.
One more question. If I set up my own DMP, will my credit report start to improve at all once I start making payments?Watch this space.... Will update soon!0 -
I don't know a thing about DMP's but i'm sure someone will have the answers......DEBT FREE AND PROUD
