Can I load a Tesco credit card?

Hi,

I'm pretty new to credit cards so apologies if this is a stupid question.

The 0% on my current credit card comes to an end shortly so I've applied for the Tesco credit card today. I've been accepted but they have only given me a £750 limit.

My main reason for wanting the credit card is to purchase a holiday so I am protected should anything go wrong as it's not with one of the main holiday companies.

Does anyone know if I am able to transfer a couple of hundred pound on to the card to up the limit enough to cover the cost of the holiday?

Thanks

Just pay a deposit on the card and you will be covered with section 75. As little as a pound will do, but I would just put deposit on the card. As loading a card can invalidate the Ts&Cs

It's a last minute deal so there is no deposit only option unfortunately!

It's usually against the T&Cs to put a credit card in credit, because the card company are then acting as a deposit taker which they often don't have a licence for, and is also a way of money laundering.

Whether anything would happen for a couple of hundred pounds - I don't know.

Split the payment across two cards?

Ask Tesco for a small increase?

Pay with a debit card and rely on chargeback, rather than section 75?

Were you even covered for section 75? Unless it's a package you may not be.

Chances are it will only allow you to make purchases upto the limit anyway, so loading will be in vain.
