New 'new Car Comparison' Engine

If you're looking for a new car, then Insuresupermarket's promising to find the cheapest price. Lots of others say similar but the difference with this one is it uses 'screen scraping' technology to trawl other sites and find you the cheapest.

Logic dictates it should work. Unfortunately this isn't always true, often it depends on whether the providers included are good for your chosen car. So this isn't a recommendation, but a 'check it out and feedback'.

Car Comparison*.

Click reply to feedback on whether it worked for you. And if you're finding the price cheaper elsewhere, then report where and that way we'll build a useful database of that too.

    Frankly, it's rubbish.

It doesn't include 2 of the most competitive suppliers: https://www.drivethedeal.com and https://www.autofinders.ltd.uk, who can both supply my chosen car for £500 or more less than the 2 (yes, only 2 out of all those featured) who could supply it on the comparison site.

It also doesn't seem to include carhound which is the cheapest I have found for the new car I am getting next month (Fiat Panda).

The time has come and I am swopping my 8 year old polo for a new seat ibiza

Always carfully research your new car at whatcar.com this is the best site by miles !
read all the advice they give on how to prepare your trade in well and print off the valuation they give of your current car ,it will be higher than glasses guide prices that all the dealers use when your haggling !
Also print off valuations of new cars and ask dealer to under cut them a large file filled with evidence is a great bargaining tool!

Most car dealers seem to hate what car guide price but stick to them car sales are badly down everywhere !
Always haggle with a nice smile on price to change only dealers try and beat down the price of your car while you work one the price of the new one, list prices mean nothing !
You must take at least five test drives, all new cars feel great compared to your old banger
Try and do a deal near the end of a month the dealer may need to make his sales target and give you a better deal !
My lovely wife enjoyed using psychology on dealers she would always sit in the negitiating seat in front of the dealer then watching the computer screen, I would sit in the further away position and negotiate !
Dealers hate you walking away so haggle hard and do not be scared to walk away they need you ! you can by anywhere !
I saved loads so have fun !
    Were all Dooooooooomed !
  • I've checked loads of so called cheapest new car providers and none that I've found can beat (or match) "micronetshowroom.co.uk" .

It didn't work for me either. It couldn't even come up with a price for the car I'm after: a Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD LX. It seems the best prices are available from Sainsbury's Bank. They GUARANTEE to beat the What Car Target Price and are usually much cheaper than https://www.drivethedeal.com and https://www.broadspeed.com. Try calling 0845 123 2620, give them the What Car Target Price and they'll guarantee to beat it.

I agree with the comments above. The price checker does not include the best companies, and on 2 sample cars that I tested - I found 1 company quoting a price for 1 car, and zero for the other !

Check drive the deal, micronet and the others listed above - you will save 000's!

We've recently bought a new Toyota Corolla Verso via the web for less than any prices on the Car Comparison engine...we went through Autobytel.com and they were excellent.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Ditto. Bought a new car in january. Searched for this model and only came back with a result from Jamjar on 2 models (even though I had specified my model)

Nothing beats haggling down the dealers, especially if you have a part-ex. I had soooo much fun knocking over £2000 off the list price of my car!
