Utility Supplier Tie In Period

We are moving in a house that has Eon and currently we have no supplier, they stated they would need to do a credit check (I assume this is to take out a full contract with them) but what if we do not want them to do a check, do we still have to have the 28 day supply? Will they give us this on the proviso that we are going with another co in the meantime? Will they refuse us supply if we refuse the credit check?

My experience of moving is that the very last thing you'll care about for the first few weeks is the utilities. Let it run for 28 days and then take time, research options on the comparison sites and finally swap to a supplier you are comfortable with. Take the first month to unpack, get settled, learn your new home and environment. Take original readings on the day of entry and keep them safe.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

This is a question for the utilities forum.
But as I understand it, e.on will have no choice but to take you on a deemed contract and no basis on which to credit check you.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
