never clayed a car in my life
leave it to those who have nothing better to do with their time (and thats not a mickey dig as hes owned up to at least trying it)
theres plenty of materials on the market to make even a 8 year old dog come up spanking
look to autosmart for cost effective solutions to everyday needs
dont buy from an internet site though as these products are only sold by franchisees at your door if you want the best quality0 -
I clean my car when it's ditched, and that's just with the hosepipe, not polished a car for 15 years, clean 'em with a sponge when selling and that's it.
It's not that I'm lazy, it's just such a pointless exercise for a road car.
Show cars?, yeah, I've done that, which is probably why I don't now
. I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

That was me. Family are watching the Jubilee, there's only so much tv I can take, and all the outside stuff was Sunday. And I fancied doing something new, and it's exercise. It's surprising how well it's cleaned up. Just polished it with autoglym resin polish. Not overly hard to use, all the rest of the moss, tar, some of the scratches, odd patch of white bloom, the patch of no more nails I accidently put on the door when I caught the gun on it, even a small patch of laquer, all came off quite easily. The bonnet has about 100 stone chips, now I have removed the flies and can see them, but they've not rusted. At least I can shut the tailgate without having to wash my hands after.0 -
I have clayed 3 cars in my life. I agree, it doesn't really seem worth the effort. I do it when I first get the car, to clean and cut it back, then properly polish and re-wax it. It takes a weekend and leads to near divorce. The advantage is that I can then get away for a few months with just throwing a sponge at the car in 20 mins and it comes right back up looking nice.
Once you've got a good wax (like zymol cheapest wax, or autoglym super resin) on it, the dirt jsut comes off with abit of shampoo after that, and I re-wax it every 6 months or so. Seems to work.0
