I've been in boots several times and seen girls spraying body sprays like nothing on earth, messing around and applying thier makeup from testers completely, not just a little bit - literally trowel thick orange, I did notify a SA who was very thankful - apparently Boots loose quite a lot from people overdoing testers.
One instance I was there, a woman was doing ALL her makeup, mascara, concealer, foundation, lipstick, eyeliner, the works! Makes me really annoyed when people disrespect the idea of testers, think it'd be better in places sold small packs of testers - i'd happily pay a few quid to get a range of samples, perfect for handbags while on the travel!
on the whole the sample thing is unhygenic and i would not use eye shadow or lip stick etc. but trying a bit of this and that often leads you to enjoy the smell or feel and buy a full size one. the toni and guy beach curls spray which was the one i used when i was apprehended was actually lovely and i will go back and buy some as i was pleased with it after trying it. it was on a plinth on its own and had no lid so was just asking to be used i rec on what boots lose they make up with sales and their prices are not cheap.:j I sometimes give myself admirable advice, but am incapable of taking it.0 -
would someone pls tell me best cashback site for Boot spls. Pigsback or greasypalm?0

Spots !!!
Reading thru last few days postings, lots of comments re spots, diet, creams and detoxing etc.
I have a REALLY healthy diet - loads of fruit and veg, plenty to drink - not alcoholic (often;) )
Had the odd spot during teens, pregnancy etc. Then in my 30's suddenly came out with spots SO bad, Dr thought I had chicken pox
Eventually diagnosed as ACNE !!!!
Apparently quite common to SUDDENLY develop this in 30's and 40's. Nothing to do with diet etc, but with hormones.
I took all the usual medication, inc being under the hospital with Roaccitaine - nothing worked.
Eventually put on a contraceptive pill called Dianette - only one that works on this type of acne. Problem solved, and even though I am now off the pills, still spot free in the main.
My son has suddenly started with spots on his forehead. He is a teenager, and his diet hasn't changed one jot in the last few months. His hormones obviously have.
I just wanted to point out that SOMETIMES spots are NOT down to bad diet, bad cleansing routines etc, and are completely out of our control.
Good news is, some of the lotions and potions Drs can prescribe have much STRONGER anti-ageing properties than anything available at Boots or on ebay.:D
So if you SUDDENLY come out in spots, that don't respond to your usual cleansing methods, and esp if spots are on your shoulders and the tops of your arms as well as your face ......maybe you need to see a Dr, and not necessarily ditch the chocolate.0 -

my daughter sufferd form terrible acne, especially at THAT time of the month. I started buying her clinique face soap for oily skin and that was the end of the problem. suffered with spots myself untill my 30's, diet good, tried everything under the sun, including precription creams and nothing worked (some of them actually made it worse) apart from the soap..I swear by that stuff now!0 -
I did not get any email either!
In the big Oxford St London one, I noticed they were giving them to people who had put down their names... I kindly asked the SA if I could get one if someone missed the deadline to collect it and she said she had 300 orders and received less than half that, so NO WAY
I was one of the lucky ones on the list at oxford street, got a phonecall and ran up there to get my serum! i was down for two but was told I could only have one because they did not have enough. Noticed that they have now started a new list, but SA said these wont be coming through till the 29th April  I also bought one of the lipstick bags, so will put the serum from that on ebay.0 -

I remember the days when perfume samples were small glass bottles - not card strips, it'd be nice if testers were actually sold cheaply, encourage more people to try out, and hygenic as well, but it is nice to have testers, just a pity some people abuse it so shoppers like us are made to feel belittled by SAs for it!
As for spots - I've been scarred badly by scratching chickenpox, and having had it 3 times, it left scars and blemishes, but palmers cocobutter is FANTASTIC, my shoulders are really clearing up, and its a lovely moisturiser!~*Cerenia*~

Have to agree that some of the medication actually made things worse - ended up with Eczema and nose bleeds etc from the Roaccataine, as it DRIES out your skin. Is SO powerful you have to be under the hospital to get it, plus you have to have blood taken regularly to monitor your kidney function
As with most things in life one size DOES NOT fit all. What clears up one persons skin could make anothers a lot worse. Presumably a lot of people DO benefit from the conventional medication - otherwise I presume thay wouldn't waste their time and NHS resources, they would just send you down to Boots
Again, just emphasising that having spots is not always down to bad diet and uncleanliness. Sods law says the morning of your wedding/photo shoot/christmas party/first BIG date, you wake up with a face FULL of lumps and bumps and erupting volcanoes of *&£$* !!!!0 -

Mother nature would get bored if she didn't cause the occasional bit of chaos! I had a huge one inbetween my eyes one - drove me mad, could see it constantly!~*Cerenia*~
