Some sort of garden brush req. Wire?
Very old house, back yard is a tarmac/stone affair but because it's so old, there are lots of broken bits and cracks where weeds come through.
The weeds are pretty loose and come up with little effort so I was wondering if I could get some sort of garden sweeping brush that I could brush the tarmac with and would pull the weeds out at the same time.
I've seen the wire brushes that are for dislodging weeds between paving but those wouldn't be much good for a large area.
Any suggestions? Other than weed killer.

I just use roundup and a soft brush from wilkos. You can get metal things that scrap weeds out wilkos sell them for a few quid0

You can get a stiff-bristled brush (also called a yard brush) which would do the trick.

My sympathy. Been doing the same thing today. Ours is not tarmac but concrete mainly, some cobble. And i have liteally acres of it. Feels like it will never end at this time of year:o
Fwiw, i cannot spray mine, and really do find the best effect is hand weeding then sweeping with a food broom.0 -
You can get a gadget that burns the weeds not sure if it's more effective than roundup. My mum uses her on a huge drive way with shingle and it seems to work.Moved to Denmark for FIRE by Aug 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”
