I have recently bought these handles to go on a new door

there doesn't seem to be anything in the packaging other than the handles. Do I need to buy a latch? If so what type do I need?

The door will be going on the bathroom, but couldn't find bathroom handles that I liked so realise I may have to buy a bolt or do without a lock altogether. It will be going on a standard white door from Wickes.
Not sure what a spindle is. There is something in the packaging that is about 3 inches long and quite narrow - would that be it?
I have got someone coming to fit them along with other jobs but want to try and make sure I have the right stuff available to avoid delays and wasting his time.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
that says 'suitable for external doors' though.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
I got confused by this too. We bought specific bathroom versions of the door handles we liked and these come with an integral small knob to turn for the lock. You then have to separately buy the latch which doesn't come with it as there is more than one size depending on the thickness of the door I think. I bought mine online from handles4doors.co.uk but I'm not sure if they're still going but e-hardware do the same. I phoned up to make sure I was ordering everything correctly.

You have to connect it to the supply cabling otherwise nothing you plug into it will work.
