Is Legoland o.k. for just adults?

My wife has just retired last month and I am taking opportunity of Free Sun Legoland vouchers. As our sons are 33 and 35 years old[bit old to take].Will we look a bit silly going round by ourselves or is it worth a day out for just adults only.?

might look a little bit out of place if you are on your own- do you have grandkids to take?

tbh i would say its not really geared up for that, likewise for couples with very young babies, theres no lovely gardens or house to walk round, just the lego 'lands'. but seeing as its a free day out why not try it n if you dont like it then go into windsor itself for the day.

    I've been Money Tipped!
You're as young as you feel! Go for it.

You can have some fun on the boat rides - there are a couple of gentle ones and not so gentle (but not jolting)

The 4D shows are pretty cool.

There's a ride where you go round in a car and shoot things with lasers - great for a bit of fiery competition.

There's a merry go round for a bit of fun.

The most important thing is that you can spend some time with your loved one. And have a laugh together. If you go with a picnic, the only expense you'll have is the car park.

Have a great time! You wont look silly. Everyone else will be having their own fun and won't give a stuff if you have kids with you or not.

If you find free Chessington vouchers, this is more suited to adults going alone, as they have a decent zoo, which has been expanded recently.

    Not sure about Legoland though.

there is the miniature world to see. If the tickets are free what have you got to lose. Go for it and have a fun day out. You will not "look silly" just like another couple wandering round.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

Chessington Zoo and decent should never be used in the same sentence. They have a very good and varied selection of animals but some of the encloses are atrociously small, especially those of the 'big cats'.

While Legoland isn't worth the entrance fee just to walk around, for free it would make a day out. As people have already mentioned, there are some gentile rides and the main Lego Mini-land but there is also the new Star Wars exhibition (good for even none star wars fans) and the park is littered with little Lego models of animals and sprinkled with a few large Lego sculptures.

The only negative thing about Legoland is it's location. the main park is at the bottom of a horrendously steep hill, although one of the attractions at Legoland is the Hill train which you can use to bypass this hill.

Personally I wouldn't bother, although as others have said if it's for free then you're not really losing anything (apart from petrol to get there). We've been 3 times with DD and DS, including a trip about 3 weeks ago on an inset day which was a godsend as it was so quiet. Went two years ago in the school summer holidays and it was horrific, didn't get around half the park because we had to queue so long for the rides (which aren't worth queueing for imo) and the place was plagued with wasps.

Anyway, DS is 6 so that's why we thought we'd make the effort as it's more of a boy place (imo) but I think it'll be the last time we go. DD is 9 and the rides were declared as being too tame for both of them.

I can't say as we saw any couples without children, but I wasn't really paying much attention. Unlike when we went to Disneyland Paris in January where the vast majority of people were child-free adults and delighted in pushing kiddies out of the way so they could get photos with the characters!

Also, be warned, as Mew, above, has pointed out about the hilliness of the terrain, there is the hill train, but when we went recently, the park was closing at 5pm, but the hill train stopped before that, so we had no option but to walk back up to the entrance. No mean feat!

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

Well, it is primarily for kids, but you can certainly enjoy the atmosphere and the shows, if not the rides!
