Manchester days out?

We could only get summer holiday off work so can't afford to go away. We've booked a two nights including breakfast for 2 adults 2 kids in a travelodge in Manchester for good price of £73, hoping to do 3 days out instead. Thinking Legoland Discovery followed by trip round the Trafford Centre and tea out there, then the MOSI the next day.
Does anyone know of a good day out near to the M3 postcode and any offers for the Lego place/meals out?
Would be very much appreciated.

You're staying close to Salford Quays by the looks of it - so you've got the Imperial War Museum North and The Lowry art gallery nearby...then again if your kids are young they might get bored easily at the Lowry..the war museum is really good though. They're a big multiscreen cinema in Salford Quays too and plenty of places to eat and drink.....a few big chains included so you might be able to get vouchers for them on this very site! On a sunny day you've got great views over the docks....Proud to be dealing with my debts!! :j0

Thank you for quick replies, Travelodge is in the M3 postcode just over a mile away from the MOSI.
There seem to be more than one with an M3 postcode (the Salford quays one is M5) but assuming it's the Manchester Central one in Blackfriars Street, then for eating, there is a Wetherspoons (the Moon Under water) just round the corner in Deansgate, and you are also within walking distance of the Printworks

If this is the right one, then for shopping you're right next to the the Arndale Centre, and I'd suggest going there rather than trekking out to the Trafford Centre, unless you've really set your heart on the Lego place.
Note that if you are driving, there are limited car parking spaces in the Central Travelodge car park, so don't assune you'll be able to get a space there - I think there are some NCP car parks close by.0 -
If you're there after July 1st I think the national football museum will have opened in the urbis. That looks like it will be very good. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
