Poor show by agency?

A couple of months ago I arranged to view a property with a national agency (a colour (e.g, grass) preceded by a hospital department (Ear Nose & Throat) and a noise you make with your mouth, usually a tune).

To cut it short, the agent didn't bother to turn up, nor did they tell the tenant about the appointment (who was kind enough to show me around anyway). The property ended up to be completely unsuitable (i can only use the words "overpriced" and "misdescribed") so I didn't go for it. The tenant told me he deals with the landlord as the agency is useless.

The thing is, the agency is advertising a property I would like, but after this experience with them, I can't help think I'm paying agency fees without either me or the landlord getting anything for it, especially as the property is at the maximum I can afford.

Any views or opinions?

Why didn't you follow up after your first experience to complain?

You should accept that life sometimes throws things at you that don't fit with an idealised lifestyle, and that you just have to ride them out, and get on with it .... ?

Honestly, how full do you think these forums would be if every EA in the land (or other business owners) posted here when members of the buying public didn't turn up for viewings or other appointments, or let the EA/business owner down in some manner ....... ?

OFFS, I'm not asking about whether I should complain or not.

I am asking people opinions on whether they would rent a house they really like but at the top end of their budget through an agency that they have had a bad experience of?

If you obtained the facts. Then you'd be in a better position to make judgement.

Rather than ranting on here. A 2 minute phone call would have answered your question.

What the hell are you on about? Are you on the right thread?

They (along with other businesses) have to deal with you, because they deal with the general public.

If they can deal with you, why can't you deal with them?

In simple words. As it obvious you having difficulty in comprehending. .

Agents fails to turn up and hasn't booked the appointment.

EITHER RING THEM OR VISIT THEIR OFFICES.

Then you can decide whether its worthwhile continuing to deal with them.
