Non-paying buyer still bidding on other items

Hia,
I sold my Dad's second-hand internet tablet last Wednesday. 30 minutes before the end of the auction, a new bidder came in and finally won it. Just £30 + postage - bargain
Two days later she still hadn't paid so I sent a friendly reminder, pointing out that it was Jubilee weekend and that it was packaged ready for her as soon as I recieved payment. Nothing.
Yesterday evening I opened a case on eBay. No response yet.
But in the meantime, when I'm logged out of my account, I can go into the bidding history on my item and look at the buyer's current bidding pattern. During the last three days she's continued to place bids on other items in the 'computers and tablets' category, the most recent only an hour ago and currently winning!
Is there a way to see exactly what items she's bidding on, out of curiosity? I tried Goofbay but it only came out with things she's 'bought', rather than bidding...

No there's not nosey, get a life and move on !
Yes you can and it's not at all nosy, it never hurts to see what sort of time wasting buyer you are up against.
OP Steve has given you the link, but remember meanwhile to block her from bidding on anything further from you and also. Ate sure you have your preferences set to exclude people with two or more strikes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Jizzler,
You can close the case against a non-paying bidder 4 days after opening it. Once you close it, you will be reimbursed for you eBay final selling fees.
Make sure you add the non-payer to your blocked bidder list.
If you haven't already, you can also tighten up your bidder requirements requirements, by going to:
My eBay > Account > Site prferences > Buyer requirements (Block certain eBay buyers from bidding on or purchasing your items).
The strictest requirement for NPBs is Block buyers who... "Have received 2 unpaid item(s) recorded on their account within 12 month(s)""The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
...If you can fake that, you've got it made."

Bah
To protect bidder privacy, not all items that this member has bid on may be displayed. When the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.
It shows the same as Goofbay... never mind, just curious really.
If only we could still leave negatives in cases where it's proven the buyer didn't pay, eh?
Thanks for the tips on restricting buyers, by the way - I'm checking now!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Coincidence - just had my first message from her:Hello,
I am really sorry but i cannot pay for this item.
Something personal has came up which means i am short on funds.
I am sorry for wasting your time and hope we can come to some agreement with regards to cancelling item.

PLEASE make sure you do a NPB on her. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
I've replied:Thanks for letting me know at last. I recommend you cancel your bid on the other tablet if you can't afford it.
I've offered the tablet to another bidder. You will need to respond to the eBay case to confirm you won't be paying, so I can get my listing fees refunded.
I assume if she 'fesses up to the case they'll issue a strike, right? This is my first time having a completely non-paying bidder, previously they've only been late!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
You could send this ... just for a laugh!
Hello,
I'm guessing the same something personal is going to come up and prevent you paying for all the other items you have bid for and won.
I have not wasted my time: I have reported this non-payment case and in agreement with eBay, will be refunded for the fees that you have left me with after this case is closed.
You will be awarded a non-payment strike and once you have received a second, you will find it very difficult to bid for anything, but this is something you will have to take up with eBay, since your failure to honour this payment is now out of my hands.
Seriously though, the fact that no visible feedback record is shown of a NPB 'offence' means that it's only after coming up against two clued up sellers who know the NPB system and have tightened up their bidding requirements, that this will prevent further damage to other clued up sellers, as the NPB will fail to be able to bid for sellers items with strict limits: Something better and visible is required."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

You will need to close the NPB case once another 3 days have passed and she still hasn't paid. This will result in your FVFs being refunded and her being issued a strike. Do not send a mutual cancellation as this will close the NPB case which can not be reopened. In the meantime, make sure you block her from buying anything else (add to blocked bidder list) and I recommend that you just ignore her - you don't need to get into a discussion, particularly if she might wind you up
The only way to get these time wasters off eBay is to NPB them (and make sure you have your selling preferences set to block anyone who has strikes). It doesn't stop them completely as they usually just open another account, but it may slow them down... They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
She says:Ok, I can't help only been able to get on the internet now. No need to be funny.
I haven't bid on anything else thank you...
I have no way of knowing how accurate the summary of bid history is on eBay. It's the one where you look at the item's bid history and click on the bidder (whose real name is hidden), and at the bottom it shows 'other items this bidder has bid on'.
Fingers crossed she will just do as she's told now...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
